Dear Parents,
You will be receiving a copy of the math Unit 1 Assessment tonight that your child completed earlier this week. Please have your child correct his/her mistakes if there were any, and then please sign the test to let me know you have gone over it and praised your child for his/her effort on the test! PLEASE HAVE YOUR CHILD RETURN THE TEST TO ME BY TOMORROW SO I CAN KEEP THESE FOR MY RECORDS!
Last night, you should have received a paper that suggested some possible areas to review with your child at home. You can review these topics all year long to make sure they still understand by the end of second grade. If they missed the topic on the test, then that lets us know that they need to review so they are solid with their understanding of the material. It may seem that your child "knows" the topic already, but if they are missing it on a formal assessment that is our chance to review those items to keep them fresh in their mind. Please let me know if you have any questions with regard to the Math Unit 1 Assessment.
Also, please remember to check in with your child with regard to the October Reading Tree. This is a great time to make a trip to the public library, or our school library if needed. The tree should be turned in at the end of the month with the names of the books and authors listed. Thank you for your support!
One more thing, please remember to make sure your child is practicing his/her math facts! Thank you again for your help and support this year!
-Mrs. R.
